| 8 DAYS KRKONOSE |
|
| In fact just after the revolution in 1989, were the Dutch indeed the first reluctants to
"discover" the country of Czechoslovakia. Before that time the country, belonged to what we called "the
EASTERN BLOC". And what we have then missed! Splendid nature, hillocks, mountains and valleys. The
inheritance of the immense large and rich Habsburg's imperium. A lot of castles and art treasures. But
also the picturesque villages in Krkonose and the Czech Paradise. By means of this trip it managed us to
give you a complete picture of CZECHIA, of its beauty, of its nature, of its rich past, and of the situation
now. We chose Mlada Boleslav as a "base station" for our trip (you find this city approximately 50 km
eastern of the capital city - PRAGUE). |
|
| Read how the trip goes: |
|
| Day 1 |
In time we leave the Netherlands and concerning the fast and especially safe car
ways in Germany we reach
the city of Mlada Boleslav in the early evening. An excellent diner is ready for us. |
|
|
| Day 2 |
In the morning we will explore the neighbourhood at first. Our renovated hotel stands
just on the old market, in the middle of the centre. The young owner and as a matter of fact of his majority
also the staff speak their languages and they are very pleasant. After the lunch we go to visit
the Czech Paradise.
Perpendicular rocks rising in an enormous wood. A lot of sculptor and art painters have tried
to perpetuate the beauty of this area. Still you have to try to taste the atmosphere and live all
this really yourself. After that time we just go to visit Jicin, the city of fairy-tales.
In the evening we eat in our hotel. |
|
|
| Day 3 |
After good breakfast we go to the capital city of the Czech Republic - Prague.
First of all we will visit the Old Town. Together with our Dutch/English speaking guide we visit
several peaks which worth seeing in Prague. The long Wenceslas Square, the Jewish cemetery, the
Charles Bridge and of course the Old Town Square with that famous
astronomical clock.
All the afternoon are you free to shop or to do something else. This evening will be our dinner
in the centre of Prague. Is there any reason for this? Yes, there is, because we invite you for an
unique evening programme in the capital city. |

The spa
Lazne Belohrad, the city of Dvur Kralove and the castle KUKS stand today on the programme. You

a Dutch/English speaking guide to tell you about the legends and the history of this splendid area.
We return through
Bila Tremesna, whre also Komenius lived. A complete unique day, without much run and climb.
A day, during which you get many impressions of the beauty of this surrounding. |
|
|
| Day 5 |
Large antagonisms this day. We visit first the ghetto
Terezin. A transit camp
that in the second world war was used by the Germans to carry out the Jews and the gypsies to
the destruction camps in Poland and Germany. This "blockhouse" lies on a distance of approximately
80 km nothern of Prague. An expert guide tells you there everything concerning all the cruelties
which had taken place there. After the splendid market in Litomerice we visit then the Habsburg's
castle Ploskovice.
In the full landscape lies there this unique construction work, which was once lodging for
empress Sissi, he who has spent here her honezmoon. On the way to our hotel we drive back through
the legendary
Kokorin-valley. It seems that time has there stopped. One says that here millions years
suffered an enormous river has flowed. If you will be lucky you will see there the "snorrende"
cameras. This are is often used for film prerecordings such as Robin Hood etc.. The driver
promised us to make regular fotostops so you can perpetuate this unique day. |
|
|
| Day 6 |
For the second time we go to the capital city. Today we visit the Prague Castle
complex. Our guide waits for us. What a city! Such words you hear there in all languages in the
world because Prague is visited by tourists from the all over the world.
